This Privacy Policy describes how Norfield Initiative, LLC d/b/a Presscoins ("Presscoins," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Pressed Coin Companion.

Non-affiliation notice

Pressed Coin Companion is an independent pressed-coin identification and collection tool. It is not owned, operated, sponsored, authorized, or endorsed by The Walt Disney Company, any of its subsidiaries or affiliates, or any other theme park or entertainment company. References to Disney parks, attractions, or characters are for descriptive and informational purposes only to help you organize and identify your own pressed-coin collection and do not imply any official connection, approval, or endorsement. All Disney-related names, logos, and other intellectual property are the property of The Walt Disney Company or their respective owners. We do not share user data with The Walt Disney Company or any Disney-branded service.

We do not collect or store payment card data — all payment processing is handled by Stripe.

Camera, photos, and the scan feature

If you use the scan feature to identify a pressed coin:

The app requests access to your device camera and/or photo library so you can capture or select a photo of the coin.
The photo is sent over HTTPS to our server and processed by Anthropic's Claude vision model to extract a structured description (visible text, design, park or location, themes). The image is not used to train Anthropic's general models.
The extracted description is matched against our catalog and the top results are returned to you.
If you tap This is it to confirm a match, we store the confirmed coin ID, the extracted description, and the candidate list in a scanFeedback record so we can measure scan accuracy and improve future matches. We do not store the raw image with that record.
If you tap Add this coin to the catalog, the photo travels with you into the submission flow and becomes a community submission (see above) only when you submit it.

You can revoke camera or photo-library access at any time in your device settings. The rest of the app continues to work; only the scan feature is affected.

How we use it

To provide and improve the service.
To process marketplace transactions and subscriptions.
To send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates).
To enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your collection or purchase history for advertising targeting.

Data retention

Account data: retained while your account is active.
Collection, wishlist, albums: retained until you delete them or close your account.
Order history: retained for 7 years for financial/tax compliance.
Analytics events: retained per Google Analytics 4 default (14 months).
Error reports: retained for 90 days in Sentry.

Legal basis for processing (EEA/UK)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a similar jurisdiction, we rely on the following legal bases under GDPR and UK GDPR:

Performance of a contract: creating and maintaining your account, syncing your collection, and processing marketplace transactions and subscriptions.
Legitimate interests: securing the service, debugging via error reports, and improving the product through aggregated analytics — balanced against your rights and freedoms.
Consent: where required by law (for example, certain optional analytics or marketing communications). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
Legal obligation: retaining order history for tax and financial compliance.

International data transfers

Pressed Coin Companion is operated from the United States, and our service providers (listed above) may process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence.

Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers — including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with our providers and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable.

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you may:

Access the data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings.
Delete your account and associated data (see below).
Export your collection data via the Passholder CSV export, or by contacting us.
Opt out of analytics by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser or adjusting your device's app tracking settings.

GDPR (EU/UK): In addition to the rights above, you have rights to data portability, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

CCPA (California): You have the right to know what data we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of sale (we do not sell data). Submit requests to info@presscoins.com.

Account deletion

To delete your account and all associated data, go to Profile → Delete Account in the app, or email info@presscoins.com with the subject "Account deletion request" from your registered address. We will delete your account within 30 days. Order history is retained for 7 years per financial compliance requirements.

Security

We use Firebase security rules to enforce data access controls, Firebase Auth for identity, and HTTPS everywhere. Payment data never passes through our servers.
